Halogen lamps soon to be banned in Europe?

Light Bulb

The halogen bulb is an improved version of the incandescent one. More environmentally friendly than the latter, and returning a more intense light, it has the disadvantage however to emit delayed lighting. Appreciated for the warm light it returns, the halogen lamp consumes all the same still too much energy and therefore is not very ecological. With this in mind, the European Commission voted to ban halogen bulbs in September 2018.

A logical process of disappearing energy-consuming light bulbs:

The ban on halogen bulbs comes in the process of banning in 2013 the production and sale of incandescent bulbs. Too energy efficient, not durable enough, incandescent bulbs used too much of their energy to heat the bulb for a small part to light. With ecological awareness, it was obvious that incandescent bulbs would eventually disappear. Then, we boasted the benefits of his sister, the halogen bulb which was certainly more environmentally friendly but which today where the environment has become a priority and a race against the clock, still harvesting too many bad marks for the planet. Scheduled for the first time in 2015, the halogen ban should be held by autumn 2018.

Faced with the disappearance of halogens, long live the LED!

LED definitely represents the future: ecological, durable and returning light instantly, unlike halogen, LED is today the most recommended solution for lighting.

In addition, LED technology is more and more accessible financially, and being robust, the LED bulb can last up to 25,000 hours, significant savings compared to halogen and incandescent less efficient, need to be changed more regularly. Unlike these, the LED does not produce heat and therefore there is no risk of burning. She is also more bearable for the eyes than these big sisters.

Today, with the enthusiasm of light bulbs for the decoration and the arrival of filament bulbs, the LED bulb, yesterday very standard, has today adapted and now comes in several shapes and colors to twisted or straight filaments.
